Biodiesel Process Equipment Biodiesel Manufacturing Biodiesel Producers / Biodiesel Producer

Orbitek is devoted to developing cutting edge systems for biodiesel production and the BPU400 is the most efficient biodiesel production system available. Technology gives Orbitek the competitive edge. Technology makes Orbitek the right choice.

The name "biodiesel" has been given to transesterified vegetable oil to describe its use as a diesel fuel. Transesterification is the process used by virtually all technology providers in the marketplace today. Biodiesel can be made from plant oils, animal tallow and used vegetable/cooking oils when the triglyceride components of the feedstock come in contact with an alkali catalyst and alcohol. The basic process is not new. In 1893, Rudolf Diesel used peanut oil to create diesel fuel and biodiesel was born.
Orbitek’s CFTTM BPU400 is a closed loop, continuous flow process that uses Methanol and Sodium Methylate as the catalysts to react with any refined vegetable or animal feedstock which meets equipment specifications.
The mixture of these three ingredients is cycled through a reactor with the added variables of heat and pressure. The reaction which produces biodiesel occurs in under one minute.
At that time the glycerin is pulled out and the methanol is recycled back through the system, while the biodiesel is sent through a polishing step to ensure purity and ASTM/ EU fuel specification compliance.
